Can't thank you all enough for the kind words and comments about ol' Ponyakr. He surely WILL be missed. Good men are hard to find nowadays, but he was one of the best! He never liked to post many pics of himself and rarely even let me take a photo of him, that's why most of his posts had me in them - LOL I chose this pic of him in his beloved GTO and that is how I like to remember him - all smiles, getting ready to beat some Chevys!! HAHA I think he would approve.

I am adding a direct link to the obit.
LINK I didn't know Don personally, but I had, and was privy to some neat discussions with him. I have several threads with alerts, which will no longer be popping up in my inbox.

TJ so sorry about your loss. My prayers are with you as I know all too well what it's like to lose your partner as I lost my wife to cancer last year. The wounds never fully heal but God wanted another angel for his race team. And he will help with the healing.

Sorry for you loss TJ. Myself and many others will miss the weekly Pontiac updates in the Racing section thru the summer months for Stock and Super Stock racing which Don posted regularly. Floating to the top like a sticky from his regular updates. Those efforts, as well and the knowledge, enthusiasm and humble attitude were all great.
I know he had things he wanted to do yet. I guess we never know how much time we have, one of my favorite passages for some perspective on those that go before us in Christ.. In Mark 12, spoken by Christ: “You all have read about when God told Moses from the burning bush, I am the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I tell you the truth, God is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living”… |
