Beautiful car, either way. You didn't hurt it, looks great with the spoiler and the black top and the old school TT mags are the perfect accent.

Yeah... a spoiler adds a touch of class to a Firebird [or Camaro]. When I bought my 71 Camaro back in 73 it had no spoiler on it. I added one and it made a huge improvement to the the car's looks. When I bought my new 79 Formula it came with the spoiler. If it didn't have the spoiler it would have looked messed up. The rear of the F bodies without spoilers make the car look like something is wrong with it, it's missing something. It's like wearing a Tuxedo without a bowtie.
So IMHO, you did good by adding it to your 72. Now it looks like a Firebird with meaning.

I would leave it off. It is so nice to see an early second-gen Firebird without all scoops and spoilers. It is such a clean design that the base and Esprit models really show off. I love that press photo of the red base bird with the Rally IIs. That is gorgeous.
