Default 80 turbo pace car

Looking for the correct SPEEDOMETER cable for an 80 Trans Am without cruise control.

Firebird central has sizes 69", 62" and 71"

The parts place has size 77" screw on and push on looks to be the most correct but not sure of length.

Any experience greatly appriciated

the 77 should be correct & will work. so will an 80" that rockauto shows for non cruise auto trans. the 3" difference shouldnt be an issue as it will just be a little more of a curve in the cable. either wil work.

Just curious, did you remove the cruise? I thought all 1980 pace cars come with cruise control, but I could be wrong on that.

Cruise control was a 112.00 retail price option

I do not have the transducer and it is down on the list of things for the car so I am going with the longer cable to get the speedo working.

I have researched 15 options available on the pace car with documentation

I believe the options could be a thread unto itself.

Many people belive that there were basically no options

Ol Pinon Head told me of a 16th option but I can't remember what it was.

I will ask him.

I know this is an old thread but does anyone have a list of options for the Pace Car?

I assumed they all came the same, but imagine my surprise when I realized mine didn't have power locks! I didn't really pay attention to details like that when I bought it, I was more concerned about crawling around under the car looking for rust, etc.

A few days later after buying it I took it for a spin and when I went to lock the door... lol

Im pretty sure pace cars got most options, they were all WS6 cars, rear disc brakes, etc, but the other options like power locks, cruise etc were buyer selected like other cars, my 81 PC doesnt have cruise or power locks but does have rear window defrost.
