Mine was a 1969 Chevy Caprice 4-door hardtop; bought it for $350 in the summer of '77 from the owner of a greenhouse that was my summer job. White with a blue vinyl top, blue brocade upholstery that smelled like a little dog had peed all over it (because hers had). Had a worn 350/4bbl that I replaced with a 350 crate motor. Not too cool for a 16-year-old, but it had power EVERYthing and an 8-track player - what more could you want at 16?

1972 Ford Capri ($120.00). What a prize. I think even Chip Foose would have turned that one down. Hey Brandi, is that your Strat in the car picture? What's the one on the hood, a Jackson?

1972 Vega with a 350 corvette motor. I was 16 years old. Like giving a monkey a gun. God that car was fast.

In 1985 bought a 1972 Datsun 510 2 dr auto for $600. Got Dad to chip in $300 'cause I didn't have enough. Had a 2x4 rear bumper and would do 100 mph if you gave it a few minutes and had a LONG downhill stretch.

Glad I didn't have something FAST; would have been like giving a DRUNK monkey a .44 magnum to play with...

MY first muscle car was a 1972 pontiac lemans sport with a ram air III 370 Hp 400 that was tricked out for even more horsepower. I never lost a street race in that car.

My first car was a 69 Camaro. I wish that it had not been. I was too young and dumb to appreciate it. I wrecked that car 3 times in 6 mos.

I was such a punk.

Default My first car was a 61 Olds F85

That had a all 215 aluminum V-8. It was 4 door sedan with the "slim jim" hydramatic 3 speed trans. In maybe 2000 mile I replaced that trans 3 times, worst transmission of all time in my opinion. I did try to pass a guy in a pick up truck on the way to high school and he nailed it so what other choice did a 16 yr old have? I passed the guy at 110mph, when we reached the light the guy couldn't believe he was Blown away by a 4 door granny car. Best moment of my life at that point.

This is like a bad night mare on my 1st car.
My brother had a 1967 tempest w/6 cylinder, straight and clean.
2 months beforeit was to become mine, his wife plowed into a tree with it.
All I have is the steering wheel center pc. So I find a '71 GT37, 350.
before I could move on it, It was sold. wound up with a 1973 Duster.

My father bought my first car (we owned a resort,my only job was working for dad)He surprised me with it by saying, "Come on Jim, lets go for a drive". We drove to other side of the lake to a familiar friend (of dad's). Once we got there he said "go look in that garage over there and tell me what you see". I went in and found a "63 Chev Bel Aire 4dr (sedan?) . 62K on the clock, bias 14" tires, small(poverty style) wheelcovers, an inline six and 3 "on the tree". Some rust behind rear wheels, but glossy paint and MINT interior. It was the "classy" turquoise (blue/green) with same interior color. I was thrilled, and 15(almost 16) in 1980. Car lasted about a year, driving too fast in rain, not paying attention, slid off road into DEEP ditch with 1 BIG tree and 1 BIG rock. Total loss. Dad punched me.

Car had a set of Keystone Classics on it at the
time of demise. Boy that car could go thru the mud!!!
Dad payed for this car with $20 bill and 3 qts of Gin.
(guy bought gin from us regularly.

Wink My First Pontiac!

My first car was a 198? Ford Fairmont with an inline 6... had 2 of them because first and second were both pieces of crap! Anyway, this is my first pontiac... 66 GP and been in my family all of it's 40 years in existence. 44K on the clock and mostly always garage kept. My grandfather bought it brand new in 66 and it always reminded me of him. Fortunately my uncle wanted to keep it in the family and after he enjoyed it from the mid-80's, he recently sold it to me... Absolutely, positively love this car! It's all original including the spark plug wires! Enjoy... I know I will!!!! Nothing like the sound of a Pontiac Big Block! It don't get any cooler than cruising in this bad boy with the fender skirts on and the PMD wire wheels showing!

My first car was a 1951 MG TD. Amazing just how much fun you could have with only 54 horsepower, a canyon road and old dunlop gold cup tires. Drove it (raced it) 14 miles every day for months through the canyon to my highschool.

My second car is the '65 goat which i still have today.

My first vehicle was a 1955 Chevy two door Bel Air hard top, Gypsy Red and Indian Ivory white for factory colors (original) with white 67 GTO interior, 283 / 2 V with an oil bath air cleaner and cartridge type oil filter, Muncie close ratio (M-22) four speed, Hurst shifter. I drove it for many, many years and then sold to finiance a Bear hunting trip, no Bear and no wheels upon my return so back to the bicycle for a spell and the girlfried at the time was not pleased. A lot of "firsts" in that ole Chebby. Fantastic memories to reflect back on. Boy that was a long time ago...I bought it out of a barn for $ 1,200.00 cleaned her up and repainted it to original colors, had it for years and sold it for $ 2,600.00 to a drivers ed instructor whos daughter ended up in the Miss American pagent representing Michigan, she was a looker ! I could not afford new tires and when I purchased it the car had two white walls on it and two black walls so I shuffled the tires around so from either side you seen matching skins. Pretty clever I thought and no one ever noticed this ! Fun car that ole 55 was a real fun car. Tim

Talking My first car was

My first car was a 1965 GTO, I got it from my Brother when I was 16. It had a basically stock 400 tri-power with a 4 speed. It was the baddest car in High School, definitely the Pontiac Power. I'm attaching a picture from about 1982 or so when I got it and another of what it looks like now.

In 1978 I bought a 73 El Camino. What a boat! I got it for $125 because the c-clips broke in the rearend and the axles walked out of the tubes while the guy was driving it. Must have been funny as heck to see your back tires and axles pass you on the road. Put a rearend in it, practiced my limited body work skills, and solt it a year later for $1300.

My first ride was a 1964 Dodge Custom 880 2 door hardtop. It had a 383 with a pushbutton auto. I beat the living hell out of that car and it never left me stranded. It was big and ugly. My friends called it the lead sled and it had the biggest trunk you ever saw, perfect for sneaking your friends into the drive-in. My secnd car was a 65 Mustang fastback with a 289 4 speed that I picked up for $250. Then I sold the mustang to by my older brother's 65 GTO. It was palmetto green with black interior and a 4 speed. I've been hooked on Pontiac's ever since.
