Can't send pics from this site to email or PM. You asked me for a 326. I've got a couple complete. One is a low mile rebuild. You have my number --

have a friend doing a 61 wagon build and is looking for a front valance in good condition and a rear 3 piece rear gate window.
Call Gary at 507-421-1917 if you have something for him. Lives in Rochester, MN but makes trips to swap meets around such as Jefferson WI and Iowa.

Ujoints
Craig Mosely of the Little Indians chapter has made them by combining two different Ujoints. He switched the caps on Ujoints from NAPA. Contact him from the little Indians web site for the part numbers.

Is there a difference between years and engine/transmission?

Universal joint
Keith,
I have searched every site i can think of for a u joint no. 3039a. Nothing comes up as a u joint, many other parts do. Do have a manufacturer or supplier who catalogs by the no. 3039a. Thanks Ps. When ever i go to a part supplier site and search for a 1963 lemans, it just comes back with 1.125 cap and 2.56 cross member which is the standard for GM during 50s and 60s. Except for our favorite little car. |

I need two of the left side instrument cluster mounting brackets. This is the bracket that attaches to the instrument panel with 2 screws and has the stud that goes into the dash. I built a custom insert for my panel, modified my left bracket to work on both sides and promptly lost it.
I also need one usable curved head bumper bolt. Thanks,

All 61-63 cars use the same U-joint. They are getting very hard to find.

ujoint
A member of the Little Indians club found an answer for axle ujoints by combining NAPA 315G and NAPA 316 joints. Switching the caps worked.

Mr. Mosley
Let me know about his find. I went to napa about getting the u joints and they had to order the 315g, but assured me there was no shortage of them. I took them to my machine shop where we reviewed them and found the only obvious difference with oe was the overall width of the napa one was 1/16" or less in width. Having been a structural engineer for over 40 years, i will assure you this would not be the cause of any failure. The joint has now been pressed into place and the axle is going to be installed tomorrow. If anyone would like pictures let me know now. I had also called skf last week and they told me that the bearing cap internals were the same and could be interchanged. I think everyone should thank Craig for going the extra mile to come up with a solution from a common part source. Everytime this is done will increase the value and dependibility of our autos. |

SKF
Craigs work is based on SKF u joints, these cost about $33. For the two. There are a lot of other ujoints that are cheaper, you may save a few bucks on it or you may have something that is not usable. I was checking out GMB joints and found a difference in the cap internals of less than .1 mm, they would not last. Kanters also says they have new ones for the little indian. When you buy the skf you know what you are getting.
We need to come up with more approaches like Craigs and less on scavanging old parts. Old parts are a diminshing return. |

So shut changes caps. Which one is the one that fits and the one to throw away? The 315G with 316 caps or the 316 with 315G caps? Thanks John.
