Default Opinion On If I Should Sell Engine Parts Or Sell It As A Rebuilt Long Block?

Hey Ponti Yakers, I'm kinda curious to hear what you would do in my position.

I'm rebuilding an engine I thought had damage and it turns out there wasn't any damage luckily. I'm too deep in all the new parts ($9000) to just bail on this upgrade.

Would you take all of the good parts and..

Rebuild another 400ci long block and sell?
This means I'd have to buy a 400ci block, new bearings etc and use my parts and machine shop is $3000 to do everything. What could I get, maybe $7000?? It would be a 11.3 compression, 288/294 cam stock #16 heads engine.

Sell parts off individually?
I don't see many people buying timing chains, cams and etc when they're in good shape used. I think only crank, heads, rods and pistons here would sell. Maybe $1500?

But a running long block with new bearings etc sounds like a better deal and maybe a little more profit. I feel like I didn't get much use out of these parts (2500 miles over the years) so the money back would be a saving thought.

What's your thoughts?

If the parts are new and in the box, I'd sell the parts. Any 'unknown' long block assembled by 'someone else' is suspect. Most of us would only pay pennies on the dollar, with the understanding that it would need to be torn down and inspected prior to use. Sell the parts.

Thanks

Parts aren't new but have ultra low miles, like 2500.

I was having a known shop here assemble it, then run it on the stand too.

I'll probably just eat it and sell off the used parts.
