If you go to your link in the eBay listing, and then click on other radiator options on the bottom, one of the options on the site is 1 inch tube for 650+ horsepower rated engines.

I had a Summit direct fit 2 row, and I think that was 1" tubes. I wanted maximum tubeage for maximum surface area.

I'm going to order the A-body 4 core for the Lemans. Engine will be going in this weekend if I don't get too wrapped up in baseball games, BBQ, and blue curacao margaritas while floating in the pool.

Or maybe black cherry Mike's Hard Lemonade chilled to brain freeze temps. All great methods for better cooling!

Nah. That #### be so basic. Cristal, yo. When you makin' mad money in the rap game, that's how you roll.

But seriously... Had to google Clicquot. If it goes over $30 a bottle, I don't need it.

Had a Mark 7 with (2) 1" cores and it would creep up fast in a 66' Tempest.

Just installed a Champion 4-core alum # MC 1680 and it made a night & day differance.

Running:
160 Thurmo w/ 3/16" bypass hole
Champion #MC 1680 4-core alum
Summit #G4918 six blade 18" Mech flex fan, 1/2 in & out of shroud.
2-1/2" spacer
Stock type shroud
2 Gals Of Prestone consentrate topped with water
Test results:
162 night
170 Day
186 Heavy traffic on 95 degree day
Gas boils @ 190 degrees so need to stay away from that temp.

Thanks for the tip on the 4 row Champion! I have a 2 row Chapion now, and its puny capacity isn't up to the task. This one'll bolt right in with my same Shroud. I'll send you a pm with some questions.

Default The cure for hi temps

Water volume and airflow.

I had Ron Davis build me a custom radiator/fan setup with shroud.
The radiator on the left is a standard size for the 68-72 A body.

The radiator on the right is the custom. The core in that one is wide enough for 2 Derale 17" 2 speed fans to be mounted in the shroud. Its a 2 pass. Actually, the core is bigger than the entire stock sized radiator.

The Ron Davis factory size radiator with the 2 16" Spal fans is for sale.

People said it to me but I didn't believe it... my car is running much cooler by removing an electric fan and installing an 18" clutch fan WITHOUT a shroud or any other air directing tricks.

Clearly, this is all a juggling act with multiple contributing factors, and no two scenarios are exactly alike. So take everything with many a grain of salt.

Sounds like maybe the water pump isn't moving enough water.

Some think you have to pull air through the rad. which is very restrictive to begin , all you have to do is just move air around it .

Ok so some great testing has been done by Mr.Shaker, on my 66 tempest, We
started out with a mark 7 15 1/2" 2 row Detroit made USA $800 radiator, along with a stock clutch and reproduction ames fan,180 high flow thermostat, temp would be around 180-200 tops in traffic cruising along on the highway the clutch would engage and disengage as it should between 185-200 seems ok but the fuel would boil and vapor lock intermitently

now i put in a USA/Chinese champion 4 row aluminum MC1080 $303 from Jeggs with a Derale Performance Heavy-Duty Flex Fans 17018 same conditions we have not gone past 190 stop and go Long Island Sunday traffic and it was 90+ with NY humidity along with slight horsepower therapy

next test i put in a plastic summit Flex-a-lite Nylon Mechanical Fans 418 fan same day conditions have not gone past 182 i will continue to leave this set up in for the next drive i have to admit I'm a bit disappointed with the Detroit made mark 7 but i will be shipping it back to them for a look see

I have a Mark 7 radiator in my '67 GTO and the water doesn't get much hotter than the thermostat's rating (180), even here in Phoenix during the summer (I drove it 20 miles yesterday and it was 110 outside). 462ci, factory clutch fan, wp, pulleys, q-jet, etc. I do run a factory appearing shroud. I think the tubes in my radiator are 1.25". I went on the Mark 7 website the other day and there was a notice indicating they no longer make radiators (due to increased competition).
