I'm sad to see it happen, but I guess it's the way of the world when it comes to magazines these days.

This could effect one of our own..... Rocky Rotella. Among others has written many articles and a tech books relating to Pontiac.

These are Hot rod:

https://muckrack.com/rocky-rotella/articles

And recently a nice article involving Cliff Ruggles and his Q-jet parts business in Car Craft.

Motor Trend, Car and Driver, and Road and Track are all still going and I have no idea why. I get all three because the subscriptions are almost free. The three mags are almost identical in editorial content, features and tech. I like Muscle machines though it's virtually the same every month. This is the trend, paper is dying fast. My College is closing their bookstore Jan 1, 2020. This is a school with 30,000 students. They say the books cost too much to stock, inventory and handle. If a professor insists on using a print textbook, the students can buy it on amazon or some other on-line bookseller. The college doesn't want to mess with them. Most of them are available as a download.

I get this and Hemmings Classic, they already cut out their euro/sports car edition and combined it with classics. I see a lot of crossover with content between muscle machines and classic, I will not be surprised when they further combine these two publications into one Hemmings magazine. Old Cars was recently sold supposedly for the better. My guess it wont be too long before that is online only as well.

My "connection" to Car Craft is the memory of driving the thousand miles to Memphis for their inaugural Street Machine Nationals in 1972. My son now drives the mild-custom '64 Ranchero- with the "1972 Car Craft Street Machine Nationals" plaque on the dash. Although he wasn't born until January 1973, he was "along for the ride"!

Note: I don't know why, but later references to that event say it was in 1973. But the plaque in the Ranchero refutes that.

P.S.- Does the Tempest front bumper make it okay to post on these forums?

Omigosh... time sure slips away. In that photo I was 14 years younger than my son is now...

"The three remaining titles that will continue to publish in print are Motor Trend, Hot Rod, and Four Wheeler, according to a memo from MotorTrend." The other titles will retain online presences.

Keith, it looks like Zip, Zilch, and Nada. Looks like foreign cars will still be around.

I will miss Muscle Car Review. Last time I was a the local Barns/Knobles there were very few of them on the shelf.... like 4 and that was it. The lady had just set them up there. Tons of other crap tho.

As was said earlier Hot Rod, Motor Trend and Four Wheeler will remain in print, the rest will be online only.

Right, but for how long? I wouldn't be surprised if we see the rest go the same route in less than 5 years. It hasn't been even that long, since the last time they went through a mass discontinuation.

I really used to like Hemmings Muscle Machines, but not digging it as of lately. The latest revamp i just don't care for. I'll probably let that one expire on the next go around. I didn't know Muscle Car Review was still out there.

I’m shocked Car Craft didn’t maintain its position. With cheap muscle are popular as it is Car Craft is the magazine that caters to that. Was the one I thought was the most fun.

I have muscle car review but honestly haven’t opened one in a year. When your shtick is factory stuff from the 60s it gets a bit repetitive.

I did see that some may continue in a digital only format. Which I’m fine with. All of mine get kindle delivered anyway.
