I went out about 11:00 am. My wife even decided to go with me for the first time since I've had the boat. She caught two of our grand total of....three. Beautiful day though and the three were keepers. Added those to the ones in the freezer.
The really cool thing about where we fished yesterday is that it's about a quarter mile off the end of the runway at this regional airport- https://atlantaregionalairport.com/events/ .
A chapter of the Commemorative Air Force is based there and so are a few aerobatic airshow pilots. You'll see something interesting every time you go there.
Yesterday a nice P-51 made several flyovers at low altitude, which I see most every weekend I've been there...two of several AT6s and various other WWII aircraft, plus few aerobatics taking off in formation and using smoke generators. Every time I've been there I see a variety of antique aircraft from fighters to twin engined transports to 80 year old fabric covered private planes.

Yup... By the way, we have always pronounced these fish as 'crappy' down south, not 'croppy' as everyone seems to be calling them nowadays. Embrace your southern roots my friends.

I have always referred to crappie as 'specs', short of course for speckled perch. In Florida that has always been the name as far back as I can remember.

I've heard that one too. Another I've heard is papermouth.

Nice catch Greg. I've gotten my tackle box reloaded this summer for trout. Also got my free fishing tag for 2020.

But, only one day out and I only caught a case of the Nettles.... no fish. IF you never had the Nettles, don't go looking for them. I had them on my inner upper arms from getting a lure out of the 6' weeds it was in. My arms were on fire from 3pm thru to 3am the next day.... the "fire" just suddenly stopped. I'd rather have poison ivy any day over the Nettles.

And Greg, if you want to see a WWII air show and aircraft you need to come up to Reading, PA. Every first weekend of June MAAM has a WWII Weekend. 3 days... 8am Friday morning thru to 5pm Sunday. www.maam.org If you go to the website the photos of the P-61, that will fly in the future soon, are on there. She's standing on her own 3 feet right now.

The big attraction is FiFi the B-29 and hopefully Box Car next year, as the show was canceled for this year due to you know what. I volunteer for the flight line every year so I can be up close and personal to all the WWII aircraft, pilots, and crews.

I'd love to Gary but that would be a bit of a drive! Love the airshows though. I was going to annual shows at the field I just linked to for years and never even knew about the lake at the end of the runway until a couple of months ago. Next show, I will watch it from the boat!
Next time you get into some nettles, try removing them with duct tape. I don't know if it'll work but it works for fiberglass 'hairs'.
