How many years did you have the add in Hemmings? Bet you got more than 120 calls. What's the most number of 69 TA's you've had at any point in time? How many have you owned total?

Not to boast but I bet your numbers will reset the thinking on just how many are out there!

I would be willing to bet that 50% (minimum) of the 1969 Trans Am total production is still out there. That does not take into account the number (lots!) of these cars that have changed hands in envelopes! 69 T/A's have had a very serious following for decades due to the unique features and very low production figures. You would however be amazed at how many of these cars were saved and put away. Look at the survival rate of the 8 convertibles alone. I am also fairly certain that at least half of the 69 RAIV cars still exist. (Too bad all of us RAIV hounds protect that information like a 16 year old daughter!)
Even at half of the total 69 T/A production, that only puts approx. 7 cars in each state!(Give or take) Still rare as heck!

I am pretty sure that the 69 T/A registry was done by a guy in Florida named Patrick in the 80's. Not sure if he is still out there or not.

chris, believe it or not, my phone didnt ring off the hook on that ad. yes, i had numerous calls over the what twenty years i ran it and i bought several cars off of it. not ra4 ones like i was wanting to buy.

as for how many i owned at one time, i had 20 and one was a convert. i still have 10 of them.

as for how many i have owned total, no idea. but lots of them.

people who quote how many of a certain car still exist, unless it is some super low production where everyone does know of all of them, (like the 8 converts), they are just mouthing horse squeeze.

I think the 69 TA owners should start a thread within this thread (67-69 Firebird) like the Super Duty guys have in the 70-73 Thread. Cars that people have or know about could be counted there and as new ones pop up they could be added. It would also be a great place to list part numbers and other info related to the 69 TA's. I don't think the PY Forums are going away anytime soon so it would be a great reference.

I stuck the hood on Ebay classifieds to test the waters, I guess I'll see if there is any interest.

A friend of mine told me about Ebay Classifieds. There are no charges for anything..... no insertion or final fees, nothing. It does show up when you do a search however under the regular site. Its my first try, and I just did it so it may take a while to show up. I kept getting a error message as I was trying to load pics, so there are no pics. After it shows up I will try to post pics again.

I just checked and the ad still shows "in progress", so I don't think its up yet.

The guy that told me about Ebay Classifieds thought the listing would show up in a search under the regular auction site. Apparently this is not the case as I have searched several times and it doesn't come up. I guess I will give it a week or so and then run a regular auction with a lower reserve then the current asking price. I'll post here again and in the for sale section when I run the auction.
