Default Keyring or keychain

Needed one for the LeMans. So I grabbed this off the internet. There’s a lot of stuff out there. Like a subculture, almost as collectible as the cars. We have a few old dealer ones as well.

The last pic is the one that came with our Tempest, original keys with knockouts intact.

I’m sure that you guys have some cool vintage key rings. Let’s see them.

Had/have? one with a 1st gen FB "arrow head", and another with "Pontiac"on it.
Have to look for them. Either gave them to kids years ago, or still buried in cabinet tool box...

Both of my Pontiac key chains are pretty old. One is a brass oval with 'PONTIAC' set in it and the other is a metal arrowhead with the Pontiac arrowhead logo in it.
The leather backed ones you have are nice for the pre '69 models so they don't scratch the lower dash paint. I'll take a pic if I can remember to.

Funny you would post this I just ordered these two for my two TA’s today. I saw they had a lot of key fobs in different colors like your last one.

I used to see these on the counters of auto parts stores years ago on those carrousel type display things.

I got one from the dealership where my Gto was sold. The grandson of the dealer gave it to me.

Has dealer info and outline of sign.

Don't have a keyring for my keys. I've always had my keys stored in a key pouch. This way they don't rub the paint off of my dash (1968 GTO). I've had the single/double key pouch like they used to use at the dealerships for test drive keys and now I have upgraded to a pouch with 4 clips to hold additional keys when needed.

I have one on my 71 keys. It's the typical circular metal and leather type like the OP has, but what's cool about it is that is was my Dads. He had it on all his TA keys back in the day, and now it's on mine.

My other keys have different styles on them.

My GTO keys have a ratty leather fob that was old when I got the car 20+ years ago. No special meaning. The pictured “fob” came with a 1985 S10 I bought new in 85. It’s been in my pocket since then. It used to have a code number and mailing address on the back, which is perfectly smooth now. Pictured is the front, which says Chevrolet and “commitment to excellence.”

I like the leather-backed fob ones but they don't seem to be made anymore. The last time I looked the prices were quite nuts from sketchy looking places. My Grand Am was the last time I had a keychain that had any logo on it, now I just have rings with the keys that I recognize by sight. My dad had one of those key carriers that had room for like 6 different keys and was almost the size of a wallet. I hang on to it but don't use it since it's not easy to drive a car with it.

Here are three I have that are Pontiac related. The 1st Gen Birds I picked up over time. The Bonneville came with our '95. Can't find another Bird that I think I have.

Unrelated to Pontiacs - Anyone remember the Disabled Veterans of America key chain license plates? While looking for the Pontiac fobs I found about 30 of them my father had from 1949 into the 1970s.

I got these Exxon Tiger key fobs from my brother-in-law. I guess that they were dealer advertising pieces. Both of them have "Raymond's Exxon ... Levittown, PA" on the reverse. I had to 'customize' the fob on the right after the plastic ring broke off the top.

I had a buddy that found a few of these still in the box. He was kind enough to give this to me. I had been looking for this style for awhile. I thought it was pretty cool being a Pontiac dealer, a bit far from home but it will be used for my TATA until I can find one from the original dealer. I have a couple of older key rings I was just going to throw away but I kept them just because.

I still have all of that for mine, original paper work, key knockouts, protecto plate, the little book that came with it and the paper tag that was on the ignition switch, oh the original spare is in the trunk with the sticker still on it.
