Since I lived around Lonny and have known him since the early 90's when he had his shop in Hammersville, I know what kind of product he turns out. He had Grand Nationals from around the country in there for tranny work. I watched some of those cars dip into the 8's.

Because I've known him and been around a lot of his work, I'd likely go with Lonny.

Gearstar as far as I know has a good reputation but I have no experience with them. They are pretty spendy but maybe someone will chime in that has used them.

I have a Gearstar 700R4 in my 62 Tempest with a 61 389. They talked with me and put together a package with the transmission, transmission adaptor to match the 61 389, and a high torque mini starter. The transmission works great, and I have never had a hot start problem with the starter.

I am very satisfied with my Extreme Automatics 4l60e. Lonnie is a busy guy, so expect a wait, but he does put out a great product.

I'm planning on buying my 200-4R from California Performance Transmission (Art Carr) soon.

I got mine from Extreme - no problems so far, but i probably only have 5 or 6 miles on it. Hoping to start shake down runs this spring.
