Well it has been a long road to save the original numbers matching engine, but we were able to do it. Here it is along with the correct alternator and starter.

Some more progress.... Steve wanted me to make sure you all would know that the master cylinder will be painted correctly in the near future. The car is coming along nicely.

I'll double check with Steve on the Seat covers and the Carpet and let you know.

The Seat Covers are from Legendary and the Carpet is from ACC.

Thanks,

James

James, Sorry I didn't respond to the question after you called me, been out of town.

Legendary seats and ACC carpet is correct.

An FYI-I use the ACC carpet because of the fit. It seems better than any others but please note it is far from perfect. We need to do weight it down with 50# shot bags, apply glue to some areas, bolt it down at seat and seat belt attaching points with some supports we've fabricated and sometimes need to split the front piece under the console to allow the carpet to reach the kick panels/sill plate areas and still lay flat in the foot wells.

That's the problem I've noticed with the ACC carpet -- not enough material at the front. You'd think they would have corrected this by now.

Hello Pat,

I saw your car this afternoon. They were color sanding it. It looks like it is coming along nicely!

On and off for two years now, wow.
James, would you be offended if I asked how much this is going to cost when done?
South of 50? 60? 70?

H for R

Not offended at all. I went into this knowing I would be upside down on it when finished. I am more upside down than I thought I would be, but that doesn't change my motivation and desire for this car. As dumb as it sounds, it is not about the money for me. The car is rare and fairly well optioned, and maybe one day might bring what i am putting into it.

I told Steve that I wanted it to be a complete restoration. I have not regretted that decision. It is one of those cars I have always wanted. I have done well with all my other cars in terms of value vrs. what I have in them. This one was for me the way I wanted it regardless.

So to finally answer your question, you are almost at the correct figure. Even crazier.....I plan to drive it! a lot!

Thanks Norwood,

I have never shown a car before, so I would not know where to begin. I have honestly been thinking about it with this car, but that is as far as i have gone with it. I think Steve's level of restoration is certainly show quality. Do you think the car would be received well? If so where would you take it?

Thanks,

James

Well received for sure! But, TA Nats in Dayton is a loosey-kinda car show for TAs and what nots...Steve the legend usually attends with his lovely gal too.
