I am sure you could buy several sets for $20,000. You did good Justin.

If you can locate the material a lot of water jet companies can make the plates if they have a CAD file. Deal is getting that CAD file or tweaking an existing Pontiac one.

The tweaking ain't no thang
Need to take out a mortgage for the full 4' x 10' sheet though.

Found someones leftover 1/2" mild steel plate at the local scrap yard. 24" x 12" of it very usable and rest(of what may have been 24" square) is full of various cuts.(I'll keep handy though) Very clean piece otherwise. Cost me $35.00 and was quite a heavy carry across the scrapyard.

Scrap yards sure have a racket going Bruce. When I scrapped some steel a few weeks ago they were only paying 2 cents a pound. But when you want to buy some from them they charge market value.
Stainless here has been selling for $2.78 a pound from the metal supply.
Bought some 3/8" stainless 3"x 36" and it was $85 for 2 lengths
