It's about time for me to switch over to a more "reasonable" engine combo to run with. Anybody interested in buying my current setup should e-mail me.

Is your current setup a small block Chevy?

Nope...455 with Wenzler heads making 731 Horse @ 7000 RPM.

Check out my profile.

Ok lets see if I got this right. You want to sell you Pontiac engine because it's not fast enough. You won't be able to sell your Pontiac for what it's worth because you can buy a big block Chevy with 750 hp for less than the cost of your heads. Your Pontiac is faster than your 76 Corvette with a 350 in it. Since you are putting a Chevy engine in a Pontiac the only logical thing to do is to put the Pontiac 455 into the Corvette and sell the small block.

Selling it all for less than what you paid for it, just to go out and buy a BBC that makes only 20 more HP for less than the price you paid for your heads? Where's the rashionality in that? Please tell me, Paul, that if you are going to do this it's going to be for a BBC making a heck of alot more HP than 750. Hey, for an FYI, a guy I know locally is building a 72 Pro Street Nova and he just purchases a 540 BBC from Scott Schafiroff (spelling?). It's a race gas engine, but with a single dominator on a Victor intake it was dyno'd at 850-HP. He won't say how much he paid, but rumor has it that it was $15K, carb to pan and dyno'd.

The fact is that I can buy, right now, a motor that makes MORE horsepower, has MUCH better parts, will handle MORE RPM, will handle A LOT MORE NITROUS, will break less parts, has heads that will flow over 400 cfm OUT OF THE BOX, can handle 8000 RPM and has an aftermarket parts availability like drugs in North Philly.

Brian, Ken, no offense intended, but it IS the logical thing to do.

I am keepinig my car now that I have had too many problems trying to buy a lighter one...and I'm putting a 572 in it that will snort out over 750 horse WITHOUT spraying it and running 93 octane fuel. Then I will put a fogger system on it.

No offense taken. We just hate to see another leave the flock. The whole car is going, huh? How much turn key? Hey, building a car like Jack's and stuffing it with a full boogie BBC is ok too. You gonna' get your Sportsman license for that? It should put you deep into the 7's.

Rash,

But then you'd be racing a "funny car with doors", too.

hahahahaha

Just kidding.

Good move. Smart man. Some guys spend big $$ on motors, others spend it on a CHASSIS. And the guys with the tube chassis cars, always go faster.

Still would like to see your Poncho mill in a tube car. Any chance of that ??
