I bought an 85 trans am with a 87 350 corvette motor in it.I cant seem to keep it from running rough at idle .Driving on the highway it works beautifully but when I come to a stop it sometimes has a rough idle and the exhaust smells rich.Ive cleaned out the mass air flow sensor and throttle body but still get the occasional rough idle rich smell prob.I cant get a reading from the computer or through the dash either.Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. The car looks and sounds great .....except when its acting up......Thanx!

was the t/a a factory fuel inj car? if so is it using the 85 injection or the 87? pull your dash and make sure the bulb is in it still. even if the cel comes on at start up, make sure there is a bulb there.
if it's an 85 setup check the cold start injector. if 87 check the mat sensor. also do a "tap test" on the maf sensor. if the engine stutters replace it. mike
