Default Last deliveries for 65 GTO's

When was the last month for cars being made and delivered in 1965.I know my car was delivered in 8-9-65. Just figuring if it might of been one of the last to come out of the Royal Pontiac Dealer with a factory 4 speed and factory tri power.

Definitely sounds like a late date. Having an idea of new 66 cars arriving might help to.

"Gunnell's Standard Catalog of Pontiac" shows that the 1965 model year production ended on 8/19/65.

From the 9th to the 19th is 9 working days (assuming no Saturday production). At 60 jobs per hour, 2 shifts production that would be 8640 units (assuming they worked all day on the last day). This would also not include the number of vehicles built from the time your car was shipped until delivered at the dealership on the 9th.

It would seem to me like there would be quite a few tripower GTO 4 speed cars in that number, since that was the hot setup.

1966 model year production started on 9/13/65.

'65 model year started on 8/24/64.

I've seen cars with 08A date codes on the cowl tag. Those could be pre-production units, or could have been built up in anticipation of system fill.
