He did say he would come down to $8,000 and it hasn't been registered since
1995. But, no more then that. He told me and I quote him "base firebirds with 350 engines are bringing $10,995...I think he's watching to much BJ.

I saw that a month or so ago. I called and left messages with him no call back, even emailed. I'm really confused people put adds to sell something but never make an effort to call back go figure.

If you've advertised recently on craigslist, you would know why a lot of people don't reply. About half of the replies are scammers, and the other half typically want to low ball before they ever see the car. I might respond to one in ten responses I get to an ad.

If I get a reply that is well articulated and is asking what I consider to be a serious question, I will respond. Maybe I'm just an old fart, but if I get an email with typos, no punctuation or capital letters, and abbreviations galore, I just delete it and forget about it. I don't expect a person who can't take the time to type out a legitimate sentence with a question mark at the end to be a serious buyer for my car.

That's like judging a book by its cover.

I was able to finally talk to the owner of the White 75 trans am instead of going back and forth with emails (glad to know he's not a robot). We agreed on a price $6500.00 for the car (contingent on my inspection). Another long road trip 12 plus hours one way.
This is what I know a from him about the car:
1) Sitting in storage for 21 plus years
2) Rust free (except for a spot on the roof that the paint chipped away, surface rust??)
3) Rebuilt 400 engine @116,000 miles, shift kit in transmission. Says transmission is turbo 400 which is not correct for the car. Hopefully he just got the numbers confused.
4) Cameo White (the color I want)
5) Crack free dash and console
6) Seat covers on front buckets are wrong.
7) Two sets rims (Ralley II's and Honey Comb's)
8) Needs new front valance
9) He's collected spare parts over the years. Extra rear bumper, set of original fender flares, front header panel and other misc pieces.

Then he tells me it has 4 wheel disc brakes on it. WHAT
Looks like another conversation with him.

I was looking for comments on this potential deal?
Anyone live around Wichita???

I think that sometimes people do that when they sell it and don't take the ad down.

He sent me some pictures... it's a stripped out parts car and only the **** that wouldn't sell is left. Worth close to nothing imo.

I screen my CL responses using this same logic. Saves me from headaches and I still sell my stuff.
