Mark,
The 79 in Post #19 looked like it had already been restored when I saw it. It had one odd option.cant quite remember what it was..Radio delete?
The 78 you get from Georgia and took to N.C. that I bought and I took to Delaware is now in a pole barn in Iowa. Good to see you made it over here...

It has been restored, but the paint is terrible! I am going to take it apart and re-do it. And install a 400 while the front sheet metal is off. Ill get it out and post some pics the next time i am at the shop. The car had the "Radio prep pkg".Which I think was just an antenna and speakers and wiring.

Good talking to you.

Mark

Arrow '81 Grand Lemans coupe

Here is a pic from an ad in Canada.
If anyone can get the actual photo from the ad and post it on here (pasted image), that would be nice, being the ad will expire, and that way at least the pic can be preserved here for the 'archives'.

Thanks a bunch, I would do it myself, but I lack the computer skills.

Here is my 78 Grand Am. Black on black, soon to have a 455 with 2-4's, 12 bolt rear, roller cam, etc. This is the first time I have swapped an entire interior including the dash and also the first time I have done one of the "egg shell' headliners. The interior was quite a challenge.I am a big fan of the Buick GNX so that just might show a little in this car. All chrome was removed and the holes migged, entire car was sanded to the bare metal and straightened/professionally painted. It looks like it will really go but the tired 301 really has a hard time. It does seem to get about 20 mpg. By the end of 2008 I hope to have all of the ungrades finished. -Jim

Default Camino's Stance

Camino, what parts/springs did you use to achieve the stance you have on your Le Mans? Like that.

Any fender rub on sharp turns on the front end?

I've done a lot a research and some trial and error on the springs. Current combo are TRW replacemt springs for an S10 #5660 with one coil cut off. Rears are stock V6 springs. I have some Trans Am WS6 springs that I will install on the rear and trim to dedired height. These springs only have the pigtail on one end. I want to bring it down some.

I tried Hotchkiss springs but did not like the fit in the front. Coil daimeter to wide to seat down in lower A-arm.

The only tire rub I get is on a full lock turn and only on the driver's side but its only at the lower rear of the inner fender and very slight. This is with 15x7 Rallye IIs with 4.25" backspace and 12mm spacers. Tires are 205R65-15. Rears are 15x8 4" backspace with 235R60-15. Tried 15x8 up front with both tires sizes listed above. Both rubbed.

I have a pair of 14x7 Ralley IIs and plan to try them with 235R60-14 up front.

Hope that helps.

Thanks,
Bill

Just wanted to show my GA off. And let everyone know that they are not just for the garage.

I've had this car since 1985. Taken it fishing and camping lots and lots of times. Went through Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts with both of my sons. The Cub Scouts enjoyed seeing me drive through the creek to get to the camp site. Had to drive to it, I'm too lazy to carry all of the camping stuff.
