Well, my dumb ass has managed to break 2 clips trying to install this boot! I can get the back attached but the sides ain't happening. Any suggestions? The boot has the black metal clips riveted on. I'm thinking of just having the upholstery shop put some snaps on it and be done.

I don't know if this will help, but I normally get the sides done first, then attach the rear. Works for me.

It can't hurt, thanks for the tip. I've been trying to start in the middle and then work around.

On thing I don't know if your new top boot came with instructions however it is common to all top boots no matter what year make or model car, that you allow the boot to set in the sun for about 2 to 3 hours before you try and put it on for the first time.

Also on the new boot I had made it says on the paper NOT to try and install the boot in any temperature below 72 degrees.

A new boot is made to be tight so that years later it does not stretch out and flap around when you are on the freeway!

One more thing which it did not say in the instructions but I found out on my own is that as long as you have the slider installed all the way across the top rear edge of the back seat and most of the clips along the sides and across the back on the chrome reveal molding you don't have to try and clip them all on. I left both my corner curve areas un-clipped. My boot fits fine and it looks good. To try and stretch the boot out far enough to get all the corner curves clipped on it was way too taunt, beyond need. All that was going to happen there was going to be broken clips.
