My '64 GTO in 1986 on our way home from Denver POCI Nationals. I won third place in the GTO class. It was a great trip.

I was shooting a 1/4 scale RC event two years ago when they stopped the event and had the pilots move. Figured it was a real airplane landing because we were using an "active" runway (Castle AFB). All of a sudden I heard "the sound". He made a few passes and parked.

Photography is also a hobby of mine and I do a lot of backpacking and fishing in the mountains around here. David Jones - that bass must've been a helluva lot of fun on that light tackle! Hard to pick just one pic but since Hikin Mike posted up those fantastic lightning pics, I'll post up my best lightning pic. I was off work for a while due to a knee injury. I tend to be a night owl by nature and one night I was up watching late night TV when a really active lightning storm rolled in. Storms like that are pretty rare around here. My friend had loaned me his van because it was easier for me to get in and out of and drive (automatic vs. my manual Subaru) so I grabbed my camera and tripod and drove down to the boat ramp in West Seattle, across from downtown and set up in the back of the van as it was raining and blowing. I was only there for about 15 minutes before a cop showed up and chased me out - the parking area and ramp are closed from 11PM to 4AM for some reason. Anyway, I wasn't sure if I'd caught anything good 'til I got home and reviewed the pics. And pretty much my favorite pic from high lakes fishing in early fall in the North Cascades. If anyone is interested, here is a link to my "best of" photo gallery. Haven't updated it in a while, but still contains most of my best work. Most is mountain scenery/mountaineering/skiing, with some birds and a couple other wildlife pics, and a few other types of pics thrown in for a little variety. http://willbaker.zenfolio.com
