YS was a valid engine code in 1969 for a 350hp 400ci engine with an automatic transmission. You can find more information on what the numbers mean on the Wallace Racing website: http://www.wallaceracing.com/enginesearch4.htm

I 14 6 would indicate an early production 67 model engine.
But they didn't use I - in 1967
So maybe the 6 - is an 8 ?
Making it a 69 model engine.

Which heads are on it
What are their date codes
Date on the intake by thermostat
What is the VIN stamped alongside timing cover ?

Wallace site has some webpages about how/where to locate the numbers and codes on engines, and how to decipher them.

Check it all out , and good luck

How many freeze plugs on one side of block?

Also find the block casting code on it. (on back of block area)

The 69 auto standard engine had a 1111946 distributor. If yours is still on it that would be amazing as over the years people tended to replace and discard distributors when they wore out.

Look for the partial VIN stamp on the front of the block, passenger side.
