Default Did anyone on this forum just pick up a '74 SD?

On one of my Facebook groups yesterday, someone posted an ad for a 1974 SD T/A for sale in the Indianapolis area. Car had been in storage for the last 30 years and had one owner. Bucaneer Red with a Saddle colored interior. Looked to be complete and all numbers matching. The poster was not the owner of the car, he had only seen the ad and posted it. I called the owner today. Car already sold. Asking price was $15000. Someone got a great deal!

This is how I found it, been sitting the last 18 years or so. Washed it about 20 times because it was so dirty!! Interior is out and I’ve been cleaning that, digging under the dash to get all the gauges working and getting all the aftermarket race stuff off. Luckily the guy saved the original intake , carb and egr. I will be leaving the headers on and it came with a custom 3 inch wicked exhaust that I installed and will leave on for awhile. Numbers matching, still has the original radiator, red on red , power window/lock , no defog, no hood bird auto car

Congrats!

Lucky on getting the parts also.
There's a guy on PY that is still looking for an EGR valve.
(I still haven't figured out where mine went)

They are still out there, sitting in garages, barns and sheds. Awesome find. Start a thread and post up pics of your work on it. I love following threads like that, I learn a lot from them!

What was the previous owner doing, I'll just bolt half of this option on, maybe combine years for this, swap that. All fixable but does my head in. Hopefully the current paint makes a good base.

He wanted to race it back in the day, he owned it before the 90’s, life happened ,I guess, and he took it down the track once and put it away
