He owns that low mile - previous 1 owner , yellow 65 GTO
- it was raised in Jersey by a lady I wouldn't bet against THAT vehicle , BUT in general , Jersey is not known for being nice to cars , or hardly anything nice. Archie Bunker stereotype deal always exceptions on stereotypes |

Wrong again Chief, its true, we are not salt free, far from it, especially lately.
So...where's the Rez Chief? BTW, sorry for missing it but don't see any trunk pix on the ebay listing? Where are they listed?

There is a reason that I posted this once upon a time:

Before getting back to BVZ interesting thread on this 1 to 3 owner ‘65 GTO, I must admit in this especially trying times, Mr. foot-in-mouth is good for a laugh.
The Baltimore built, NJ owned car has a seller that seems to be a gentleman but really not informed enough of what he has. We traded a few text and all he wanted to talk about was the old wax cans in the trunk. I was trying to get some facts on several items including the transmission and shifter, but he had no idea. Originally this car would have had the Pontiac 2 speed automatic with the matching numbers “chrome ball with ivory button” shifter as shown below. I hope this gentleman gets good money for this car, in this time of need. Chris.

So this car with two days left on the auction, is at 30K right now. The owner would have to be thrilled with the way this is going with 41 bids on it. With the unknown transmission transplant or at least the shifter, the tri-power addition, kind of cobbled in, and other minor flaws mentioned in the thread, where do the experts think it will end up? All the important basics are there, nice body and paint and probably 40K miles on it. Agree the next owner will be the 4th owner so the one owner stuff kind of goes away. Be interesting to see in a couple days. Nice car today that could be a really nice car with a little work. The fact that it may or may not run could be an issue for some people.

My take is sort of like this -
the daughter/son-in-law never drove it the current flipper bought it only to resell, and hasn't driven it so I don't really count them as much other than temporary caretakers. Technically, they were owners by a definition. With what we know, and dont know - i think its all-in at 30k. If a GTO guru gave an inspection and verified the paint and a few other things, that would give it more bidding room. If it ran and drove nice - more bidding room. If all the original parts were still with the car instead of the wax containers - more bidding room. If the old man were still alive and selling it himself. Full disclosure of any and all known pluses and minuses Paint actually all original and minty Running and Driving All removal items in hand 40-45k on its best day during good economics and no social distancing. That would have been perfect storm and generous. IMO |

More infomation
The seller finally sent me a pic of the data plate, although terrible quality. I also received his Car Billing History.
I wanted to compare his Baltimore built car with my BAL built 65 on the exterior color codes. Because the Baltimore plant was a Chevrolet controlled plant they used the number “6” to designate Black for a Cordova top. Possibly Kansas plant did this also. I’m not certain. In the Pontiac and Fremont plants the number “2” represented a Black Cordova top. So both his car and mine have a “6” for the top code on the data plate. His is W6 = Bluemist Slate Met. with Black top. Mine is Y6 = Mayfair Maize with Black top. The “Car Billing History” for both cars uses the “2” instead. The letter “A” designates Black wheel. His, W2A Mine, Y2A A little confusing to someone when trying to decipher these BAL data plates if your not familiar with this. Chris.

What's with the red paint under the hood, near the hood hinges? And it looks like the passenger front fender hood bumpers have paint over them.

Well, it has one day left and 5 bids in the last 3-4 hours. Multiple bidders are driving the bus. Just for fun, I am making a guess. I say auction ends at 41,250.00, which personally I think is over market for that car based on it's presentation. The biggest thing being a total gamble on the engine. Might need a couple hundred bucks for routine maintenance items or $7500.00 for a couple sleeves because a wrist pin carved through a cylinder and that's why it was parked. Who knows?

Someone must have really wanted it. Price was ok if it was as described (and the engine was good). But by the time you straighten everything out and clean and detail it, you will be way upside down.
