I use KRE CNC 335 cfm Eddy round ports on the race motor. The new CNC chamber CNC ported RP heads I got from SD Performance are a work of art and flow up to 340 cfm, they will go on my next street motor.

You didn't try it???
I've seen those kinds of gains with dominators, on BBC's, they seem to thrive on them. So I would have fully expected that a similar gain would have been possible on the 571 Pontiac, but it just didn't live up to the hype on this engine, and actually lost power and torque everywhere below 5,000 rpm compared to the 950 4150 size carb. Weird deal but that's why we test. |

I know, wasn’t an option. Bottom line though a motor like this with more cam, carb, head work, compression etc would be 900 HP +, just like your Dads motor - which I like a lot BTW !!

I think that 535 looks pretty damn good. Those number you posted are impressive, with a 750 carb no less. What a ball that will be on the street.

Every 500 plus cube roller motor I've run liked the 1150 at the track over 1050,. Tried 1250s too and seem like the 1150 was the sweet spot. Just my junk, mind u.

Except for the Internal Linkage, there are very few things I would change on a good 1150 Dominator carb.
Jeff (Shaker455) builds a very nice 2 circuit Dominator carb. Most of the 3 circuit carbs work a lot better after being converted to 2 circuit carbs by Jeff, Tuner, and other qualified Dominator Tuners. The 3 circuit carbs were originally designed for Circle Track racing not Drag Racing or Street use. Tom V.
