Speedwin Automotive...cool pics
I was going thru my old catalogs today and ended up on a Speedwin Automotive parts catalog, can't find the date on it but I'm guessing late 70s or early 80s.
In the Pontiac induction section they show the cool Pontiac Doug Nash intakes. |

Doug Nash coordinated the actual casting of the intakes with the casting house and mold makers. The original manifolds were cast in magnesium material as many on PY know. The reason for this post. The advertising clearly says the Dual Dominator Individual Runner intake manifolds were designed for a SMALL ENGINE (about 320 cid). Doug, Tom, and Herb understood that you needed Very Large carbs to do higher cid engines. The 4600 series carbs 2.75" throttle blades were designed for each carb to flow over twice the flow of a normal 1150 Dominator carb. 600 cfm per bore. Obviously a different intake was cast up for those carbs. Thanks for the info for my Nash Collection. Doug worked for Ford in my building at one time in his life as a Skilled Traded Guy. Tom V.
