Default 455 Rebuild update

Hello, this is my thread from 3 years ago.

http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=803702

I finally got the engine assembled and broken in last month. This thing rips.
It still needs some fine tuning but I am super happy with the outcome.
Thanks to everyone who offered up suggestions.

Hey, glad you finally got it on the road! I just read through your old thread. You got lots of advice but you didn't report back with all the choices that led to.

Would you be willing to list out the full combo of parts you went with?

Good to hear!

Here's some info on reading plugs to keep that new motor healthy!

I'll be honest, I bought all of that 3 years ago and didn't write down so I don't remember exactly.
To the best of my recollection:
455 .30 over
speed pro forged pistons
crower 60919?
rhoades lifters
68 q-jet intake with an edelbrock on it currently. I'll switch it out for a proper q-jet once I rebuild the one on the shelf.
an unknown second hand hei

Was broken in less than a month ago

Other than detonation...How much of that "race" info applies to a street car?

Where timing marks, fuel rings, etc.. are always changing/moving around.

Full throttle is full throttle regardless of how much hp you may be making and the plugs you use heat range wise should reflect that once the Carb on the motor is jetted right.
