Default Another rip off

I believe this seller to be a member. So if you're listening, why not man up and tell unsuspecting buyers your carb is a fake. How'd you like to be taken? If money is that important to you, don't you think it's just as important to the ones you cheat?

I don't know the guy, BUT that carb looks good for that kind of money. Would be good to compare to an ORIGINAL and find out there is but a few minutes to make it exactly ORIGINAL if it isn't already. Think about it; It's advertised as Remanufactured.

A little use, a little mileage and it will look completely original.

My opinion is it looks pretty good. HIS

I would replace the top screws, choke plate, Sec Rod Hanger, and Throttle bracket Bolts, & be quite happy with that unit.

You can put reproduction quarters & floors in a 100k+ car and not effect the value, but a repop carb that's done well is a crime?

Actually, it IS A CRIME, if the carb is a production 1968 or newer. Check the 1966 Amendment to the Federal Clean Air Act of 1963.

The carburetor is considered to be a part of the emissions systems.

Jon.

I would put that on my car it looks very nice, heck I spent over 300.00 for Cliff to redo my carb.

Guys, this is a Carter carb. As far as I know, there is no way to turn a Carter into a Rochester. As for it being a crime, I have no problem with reproducing any original parts. No problem at all. Especially for your own car. Just be up front about it when selling. Treat others as you want to be treated yourself and you can't go wrong.

So this carb is a re stamp? He let it go for 466.00 so my guess is he knew it was not an "original" RA3/4 carb. That being said I would pay that kind of money for one even if it was a stamp job. I would NOT try and sell the car it was on while claiming it was the original carb. For my janer 69 RAlll Judge that had the carb missing back in 79 when I bought it a 466.00 dollar super stamper makes more sense than a 3500 dollar original especially since the car will never get sold and the engine surely cant tell the difference.

Like 6d7gto said, Carter never made any RamAir carbs for Pontiac.
Assembly line nor service replacements.
Only Rochester did those.

Carter did supply some Qjet carbs for Pontiac - just not R/A units.
So this was definitely a restamped re-creation tribute from the get go.
Not something that was "brought-back" into former glory.

It was bought fairly well i'd say.
So long as buyer doesn't think he just bought a full pattern decoy - it was a fair deal for the money.

Back in the later 80's PerfYears was offering similar units fully rebuilt to specs with R/A part numbers restamped - outright for under $300. NOT re-colored/restored, just rebuilt.
A lot of those were Carters.
