Default 1970 Guage restoration

I got a nice gauge package and was told to have speedo rebuilt by redline guages and guages calibrated and tested. I spoke with someone there today and the suggested making my internal clock a quarts cloke and making my original 8 grand tac modern to run on any distributor but will no long run on points. I am hesitant because I have a 1112009 all stock point distibutor and a 1112009 housing which is same as a 1112008 housing . Now I can turn either into a nice petronix unit with an adjustible vacume advanced. My question is will the stock 8 grand tac run the petronix module and changing the clock doesnt sound to excitng. I had idiot lights and want a ralley guage cluster and have collected for over 30 years guages found at bone yards. As a boy I only had paper route money so I went to bone yards plus dad tought me that, I also collected and bought many bezels and it was a fard find but I got luck and got 2 with ralley and ac but only one had the rear defogg option but its a 72 and other had a digital clock intalled in same area. Do I need to have clock turned into a quarts one and advice on the rpm tac. will it run a petronix module? Hear are some pics of what I got so far, still looking for a 70 bezel with rear defogg from factory and ac plus rally, I dont want to cut my original.

Default Guage cluster

This is 1 of 2 original clusters I own,I also have 2 or 3 74 8 grand tacs that are 2 wire. Need solid advice please.. redline also mentioned buying circuit board in back.from Parts Palace. Is that good advice and what's a good lense polish kit and where to buy. Thanks in advance for advice. Looking at Daytona guages they look good and if I knew about those I might have went down that route but I got alot of years trying to make this option correct for my car even thou it's not on my phs docs. I have ra3 with idiot lights and auto. Was the tac an option for an auto? I have seen clusters with a big clock too and rally guages. I hope Im.doing this right, my dad told me to do it right and not to pust patch things up. He always mentioned that car was all stock and it upset him that as a boy I did thing to it ut he never said anything till now. Also spoke with M and H and planning to get new rally harness with all my options might even add the 8 track for fun.I got a few of those too. Advice please.

The pics above are a 1970 Gauge set. Just send it out and have it rebuilt. They fix the face up too. The clock will look identical, but the second hand will move and stop each second, vs a sweep that it did when new. This service is expensive, but worth it. They will change or polish the lens, calibrate, etc.. plug and play.. if you buy a 70 harness, use the 70 gauges.
Your 1974 Gauges WILL Not plug into a 1970 harness.
Unless you have a complete factory rear defroster, I would skip the switches on the dash.

Did you get your RPM gauge calibrated or rebuilt for HEI and if I just get it calibrated will the pertronix module work when reading RPMs. I do remember reading about it and somebody says that the pertronics does work on a stock tack I just want to make 100% sure

Yes, stock 1 wire rebuild will work with Pertronix.

My friend Greg dog is helping me with my restoration and I appreciate all his help and input recommended Redline gauges and I spoke with them depending on what you want to do it could get a little pricey but you can save money by buying the new lenses and circuit boards yourself that's what I was told by Redline gauges they're recommended the parts place so since I didn't get any feedback I guess they sell good circuit boards and you lens covers I want to try to polish mine first though you can Google their phone number hope hope that helps you
