Default No front Turn signals--what to check?

I just put my front clip back on the car after an engine rebuild and font end refresh. Everything works except the turn signals. When I put either turn signal on, the rear works fine, neither of the front works, and BOTH right and left indicators flash on the dash. Where do I start?

Sounds like maybe a ground on the front sockets. Do the running lights come on? Could run a jumper from the socket to ground and see if they come on. Is the flasher rate faster?

I just played with the ground, which was loose. Now, when the signals are activated, both rear signals work fine as before, the front right works fine now too. but when the front left turn signal is activated, BOTH front turn signals go on and the left is actually less bright than the right. Plus the flashing rate is somewhat diminished. The ground seems to be solid as my probe lights up relatively easily. any other ideas?

No ground on the bulb socket on the left side, therefore power is passing through both filaments of that bulb and getting over to the park filament on the right side.

Jumper a wire from ground to that socket and test it.
Unplugging the left bulb and watching the right would prove my theory.

Actually, never mind--just made a stronger ground, and it works great. Thanks for the tip 69geeto
