Default convert from a powerglide to 350 trans.

Anyone have any pictures of carburator linkage or what year brackets I can use for the kick down cable for a two barrel carb. I am installing a 350 trans into a 68 firebird. I am pretty sure this did not happen in 68 so I will make a cable I have work if possible. Thanks

Try the Shift Works or one of the other street rod parts companies. They have a lot of universal stuff.

Two speed automatics in Pontiacs are superturbin 300 models and stronger than a glide in stock form.

You'll need to research later 2bbl cars like 1969-197x Lemans 350 and some big cars.
Lift the setup off of one of them.

In the end it may be easier to swap in a 4bbl and brackets off of a 70s car or find a TH400 and swap it in so you don't need a cable. hahaha

Also check with Lokar for universal setups.

Holley used to have a variety of cable brackets for all things carb related. Might be a website...

They may not have an exact original e, but can be made to work.

I performed this swap on a Chevrolet. The carb cable/linkage was no big challenge. The shift shaft linkage was a little more difficult, don't remember what it took to convert...

The swap was worth it. The 3 gears in the TH350, w/ the lower 1st gear made my car a lot nicer to drive....

It would be easiest to replicate what Pontiac used in '69 on 350 2bbl Firebirds!
