Do you use same bolts when doing rear control arms
I need to do the rear control arm bushings on my 66.
Question: Do you use the same bolts that you just took out of the control arms? Do you buy new ones? Do you clean up the old ones and reuse them? fb66 |

If they are in good shape and are not rusty I always reuse them.

If they show no sign of visible wear or cracks on the shaft and the threads clean up you can re-use them. If you decide to replace make sure to use grade 8 bolts and nuts.
If I recall correctly, the factory ones have a "shoulder" on the head end to fit tighter into the hole of the factory bushing. If yours don't have this they may have been replaced previously. My BMR adjustable uppers came with new bolts which I used because I figured they were sized to fit the new bushings on the arms. I replaced the factory lowers with boxed ones - they didn't come with bolts so I think I re-used the best originals. |

I have not done anything to the car yet. But, If I did have a crack or rusty bolt where would I find a bolt at?
Where would I buy one that would be the same? Hardware store? Junkyard? Aftermarket company? fb66 |

Yes hardware store, should have them.
If you can, clean up the old ones, so they will slide a little easier.
