Default ST300 AT Kick Down ?

Had a request come across the OHC email exchange where a guy is asking about his 68FB Sprint having some problems. One problem is where the transmission is not kicking down on acceleration. He said it was electrical?

I know nothing about AT transmissions but wouldn't that be vacuum actuated?

I found this "governor" ACDELCO 89057785 listed for his application.

Would this need to be replaced or what is causing his problems?

The kick down is electrically operated on a ST300 trans, should have 12 volts at the transmission with the gas pedal fully depressed. If it has power it is most likely the kick down solenoid inside the pan, if no power then test the kick down switch for power and proper operation.

If you speak with them again and they are in need/interested
I have the Solenoid both perfect/functional used and NOS.
I may even have a switch.

Let me know if I can help further.
