Default '66 rubber floor

I have a front and rear red rubber floor mat out of a '66 Tempest. Only issue is a couple of holes where a floor shifter was mounted. Do these have any value? I never see them or hear anyone asking about them, it's always carpet questions.

Thsnks,
Rob...

Yes, the rubber mats have value... but only to a very limited market. If someone is restoring a base model A-body these things are very hard to find in decent condition.

I'll get a few pics tomorrow and post them up here. If I had a '66 A body street car I'd use them for sure. I think they are cool and I also like being different. Everyone puts new rugs in to look pretty when a rubber mat says tough!

I had a nice set of rubber mats for the early A bodies many years ago. I sold them to a fellow PY'er, and have yet to see another set. Good luck with your set.

If these mats are the same across GM divisions, I'd advertise them on an Olds board as well - more demand for the rubber floor mats to some of those guys since you could get the 442 option on the F-85 which I believe came std with mats instead of carpet.

Vary rare item I would expect. I ordered a Tempest Sprint new and I remember ordering carpet as that didn't come standard on the base Tempest.

This is the original front mat from my '64 Tempest.

Note the Pontiac arrowhead molded into the center on each side, so nobody other than a Pontiac Tempest restorer would really want them.

My 67 Tempest Sprint has them...still.
It was a real blessing with 2 kids and acreage that resembled Daytona Beach.
I would love to find a front mat in better shape than mine, its got a small cigarette burn
from the first owners.

Trying to find a dark blue one for my Tempest. Dont even care if its generic as the car will be painted satin black. Have to agree with misterp266 as to the tough factor.

I have an original gold mat out of a 66 Tempest I would sell. Decent shape if I remember correctly.
