I had to stop in Lima, Ohio for the night because of a major ice storm. The next morning I found that the driver's door lock was broken when I couldn't get in. The passenger side had a newer style lock which I didn't have a key for. I finally pulled into the garage at home, changed clothes and took off for a follow-up visit to a doctor that had done some tests on me the week before. He informed me that I had an advanced form of liver disease (called PSC for short) that would require that I get a liver transplant in the not too distant future. Six months later, a doctor at University of Cincinnati hospital found cancer in my bile duct and I was referred to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. While there, I went through radiation, chemo, and in Sept. 2005, a liver transplant. During my illness and convelescence, I worked on repainting emblems, polishing stainless trim etc. And I read tons of car magazines and books. I learned how to weld, bodywork, paint, interior trim. The attached pic was taken earlier this year
You sound fortunate to be alive! I'd like to see more pics of your car. I think it's great that you found the energy to learn and work on it while you were getting well. I'm up the road in Kettering btw.

Bascom123,
Nice car....very green. Is that a factory green color or is it a more modern hue? Also, any plans to change out the chevy engine for a traditional pontiac?

Bascom123,
Chevy engines look completely different than a Pontiac. First indication was the color (chevy orange), but people have been know to paint Pontiac engines red. Other indicators are the intake, water pump hose locations, head dimensions, and valve cover dimensions. Finally, the shear size of the engine reflects that your engine is a small block chevy. Take a look at the attached picture of my engine compared to yours....you should be able to notice several differences even though my picture is not from the best of angles.

FYI, not a huge deal having the Chevy engine in your car. They can run very well, but they are garlic to a vampire for the diehard Pontiac nut. Very nice car though, and the restoration looks like is was very well done.
