Smile 69FB Resto Mod

Hey Gang,
Check out Justin's car!
We just installed the cowl and hood tonight. This has been a 3 year long father/son project. We are very close to finishing. Can't wait to drive it!!

Smile 69FB Resto Mod - Additional pics

Noticed the pics I posted earlier are hard to view, too dark. Here are a few more in better light. This car is going off for upholstery this week. Then we drive this.....

All you have to do is make yours faster than all these nice cars. That will
piss someone off. I wish my car didn't have a paint job......I'd have alot more time and $$$ under the hood.

He he. I keep saying it will get painted but I keep making changes too quick to finalize what is to be painted. It will look nice a perdy this winter but it will be alot meaner as well.

I forgot the under hood shot from last year, the polaroid, and another pic

What do you guys think?

Yes the bumper was replaced, the GM crest nose emblem is sitting on the shelf, never could bring myself to drill the nose for it...

PS, does anyone know how to modify the car so i can run a one wire alternator?
The 4th or 5th external regulator on the core support is on the fritz, making the new alt go full field.. Was not plesent when the battery self destructed...

Just get the right bracket and alternator, and wire it up like a normal internally regulated alternator. Works fine for me. You can't do it with the original alternator, though, at least I'm pretty sure you can't.

Bracket from what year?
Yes im sure you will have to ditch the stock alternator, but what alternator is everyone using to go single wire?

I used bracket and alternator from a 1976 bonneville. Lots of them should be equivalent to that. It bolted right up to both my 6x heads and my 1968 16's.

69birdboy,

I had a car that matched yours (color, options, etc) back in the early 80's. Was my daily driver for several years!
