Still my favorite Trans Am nose for the new Camaro... (and I'm not even a big fan of the 77/78).

The ASC car just looks wrong.

In a world of silver or beige econo-boxes, it's pretty cool.

looks like a cartoon car for a new 'cars' movie....

as a transam or firebird - it's a massive failure.
it might have had a chance of a succesful styling if it were based on the first gen firebird, like the current camaro was based on the 1st gen camaro. you can't put the nose nor styling of a 1970-1972 firebird (or 73-81 for that matter) on a 1st gen.
this, is the result.

and the failure of common taste results in the actual producing of this car.

transam is dead, keep it like that. surprises even myself to say such a thing....but it's the best. the only car coming close to a firebird or transam was the pontiac solstice. if they've stretched it to a 2+2, made it a bit bulkier, and put the v8 of the G8 GXP in there, it would've been a new firebird/transam. no harm though in the solstice being the new fiero....

so people - just deal with it. no new trans am will come. only car getting close to a retro firebird/transam is the BRE bandit. but that's only because it was a real 2nd gen firebird.

i very much like the new camaro, same for the challenger and the mustang (the 'facelifted' one now available appeals less to me). any try of a third-base party in re-creating their sister brands has only resulted in failure and to be honest, a bit of worrying for the real enthusiasts that those failures might ever make production or reality.

challenger based plymouth retro concept: failure.
camaro based firebird retro concept: failure.
mustang based cougar retro concept: failure.

keep the dead dead. it's like a freddy mercury, elvis presley or micheal jackson impersonation - it'll never come close to the real thing.

I like that black car's styling, but the shaker won't look right at any other angle. Rework the shaker to something else and it makes sense.

This version based on a 2010 Camaro was at a show in Henderson NC a few weeks back, I didn't care for the rear end styling at all.

Going off what old WARBIRD said, in my opinion the Firdbird Trans Am has been dead since the early 80's when they turned Pontiac's into Chevy's.
I will not recognize any "Pontiac styled" car until they bring back Pontiac drive trains.

And I dont give a damn who you are or what you do, GM did not discontinue Pontiac drive trains because Chevy has better performance, cost, and reliability. Thats a load of crap. Pontiac and Ford together outperformed Chevy on all fronts in my opinion. They discontinued Pontiac drive train because of money. GM's number one top priority has always been making investors filthy stinking rich, any way they can possibly do it. If they have to exploit workers, pollute the environment, fudge numbers, and lie to the public, they will do it in the name of money. All this talk about bringing Pontiac back is pointless in my opinion unless they bring back Pontiac engines, transmissions, rear end, etc.

But of course I dont like anything that GM makes except for the 70's and earlier Pontiac's. Everything else is garbage to me. Well the some of the Camaro's and Corvettes were kinda cool. Those went bad after the early 70's too in my opinion.

Anyone think im wrong?

I agree. They've incorporated too many yrs into the car. Leave the Knight Rider red LED 3rd gen style vent in the front panel off too. Not as bad as the rear lights though. That deck spoiler looks bad too.

Lingenfelter 455 T/A Concept - 655 hp and 610 lb-ft of torque, 7.5-liter engine based on the all-aluminum 7-liter 505 HP dry sump Corvette Z06 engine.

Finally someone has done a nice job using the 2nd-gen T/A styling cues, the engine definitely has more than enough power.

I'm just wondering why these stylists are redoing the 2010 Camaro, clearly inspired by the first gen F-body, to look like a second T/A. Shouldn't they be going for the styling cues of the first T/A, the '69?

I really think Lingefelter did a great job of making a new 1st gen car into a second gen car.

I think Chevy missed the mark on the first gen thing - suits the 2nd gen better.

Ugh!

I suppose the front end styling is "OK", but the rear end and tail lamps are hideous!
