I got a call from Classic Ind. last Thursday asking if I still wanted mine. I ordered it about 2 1/2 years ago. I had mine redone already and have a few spares to work with on my other projects so I told them to pass it on to next guy in line. He said they were still coming in small shipments at a time.

I also received a call yesterday, not from Classic, telling me that mine was in. It should have shipped out yesterday afternoon, so hopefully I will have it on Monday. I was told this vendor received 3 (they were all spoken for) and that OER (I think who is having them produced, can't remember for certain) was having some quality control issues with the initial batches, and that's part of the trickle at the moment. But things are supposedly getting better and they would start showing up in greater numbers soon...

This is good news if they have gotten past all the previous issues. We've had lots of false starts. Fortunately, the original dash in my '73 is fine. The '71 project Formula on the other hand needs one so I may need one next year.

This is good news. I had to buy mine on ebay for $600 plus pay a $70 customs fee from Canada for a perfect 40 year old deluxe interior dash 2 years ago. This also beats paying Just Dashes $1200-$1500 plus shipping to get yours fixed.

Now, if somebody would please make a set of left & right armrest/map pockets that attach to the lower full one piece 70-71 door panels. I don't understand vendors advertizing that they have them, only to see they are not correct and are for the 72 Firebirds and Camaros that actually have the upper and lower door panels.

I've waited thirty years to finally see some of these items being made for our 70-73 2nd gen cars. Nothing used to tee me off more than to be thumbing along in a catalog and get past the 67-69 stuff and see the catalog jump to 1974. You don't like it, but what can you do. I don't know if it was about the low production numbers or not, but I always suspected. 1st gen. owners can't dream how frustrating it is not to be able to get what they need.

What about trunk drop offs, correct fenders and inner fenders for 70-73. Think that will ever come?

I'm gonna buy one even though I don't need it right now. I did the same thing with the new tail panels from Goodmark. Didn't need it, but I bought it anyway. You never know when you or a friend might need one. I've learned, they may not make but a few runs of that product. Plus it gives support for the people who ventured their capitol investment to bring it to you. You can't lose. If you don't need it...somebody down the line will. You might even make a dime or two.

Just the same...it is good news, and I deeply appreciate all the people involved in producing these parts as they can. I know it takes money. I also appreciate all of you guys posting up the latest when you find stuff. Thank you

I'd still like to see full 1/4 panels before I break out the party hats...even though I don't need them I have seen too many '70-73 cars that do.

I thought Ames had repro fenders that were suppose to be available last month?

That's what their ad in Smoke Signals said last month, but I THINK that they must be just advertising Goodmark parts.

I really don't believe that they are an Ames "exclusive".

They also showed a T/A hood but for 77-81.

What were they thinking on THAT ONE????????????????

Those things (used) are more common than belly buttons!

We need the 70-76 T/A hood.

I was sure there was someone else offically bringing them to market but, Ames E-mailed me about them. Found the E-mail and it states the fenders are the '77-81 style units (WHY?!?).

Reproduction parts are just like sweat pants,ONE size fits ALL!

I've said this many times before, but it seems that the people that have the funds & ability to make reproduction parts have absolutely NO CONCEPT of what is actually NEEDED!

My dash arrived on Friday. I haven't had time to look at it (haven't been home all weekend), but the box is there. Good news!
