Default Car Show Ballot Software

Is there any interest in this type of thing out there? I have developed a program that will tally, sort, and print ballot numbers for the X number of winners. Works great, but didn't know if there was any interest for software like this, other then my own use. If so, let me know.

Our LI GTO club runs a show every year and talling up the judging sheets seems to be one of the most time consuming chores. I would really be interested in seeing a program for that. Love to see a sample.

Send me an email to stujackson@tds.net and I'll send you the docs. If it looks like something you can use, I'll send the program.

For The Indian Uprising, we are lucky enough to use a voting machine lent to us by the city. They have the brains changed for us and just have the people who vote slide the papaer into the machine when they are done. Its instant and we dont do any hand work.

I would believe there is great interest on this software. How does it work?

It's been a while now. I have added a tab for judged shows. The software will take up to 5 judges scores, average them, and sorting is by highest score down. This score is married up to the car # and driver name, etc.... Works like a champ!

Wow, has it been that long!! 2007!
Anyway, I have done much work on this program and it is now available.
Counts, sorts, prints, makes mailing labels, keeps a database.
It will accommodate "participant voting", "judged shows", and "class options".
Our largest show input over 4000 car numbers, and took 20 seconds to pick the winners!
If you're interested, I'm at jackson.stu@gmail.com

We just completed a program that takes the voting ballots and optically character scans them into a spreadsheet instead of having to manually key in thousands of votes. We should merge our two products together!

Sounds interesting! If you can export the numbers to Excel, my program can do the count / sort / print for you. The cool thing is that classes are set up in the program, so no matter what number you input, it will be directed to the proper class (which eliminates that sort on the optical scan). Sure, let me know.

For now we just used the new software to tally our ballots for our Open House Pontiac show. Took an 30 minutes instead of 3 hours. We fed each ballot into a scanner and it read the ballot and exported the data into an excel spreadsheet. It's not clean enough to market as a package yet but that was a goal.

Sounds like a winner! Importing into "Best of Show" software would tally, sort, and print from the top down. Also allow for drive info and print labels. Something to think about.

Old Blue, yes, it is a program I developed to run under Excel. The link is a couple of messages up.

GREAT software. I didnt really read the whole site, but this is a huge need in our hobby. Currently our show uses a retired voting machine from the state. Been usiing it for years. Counts everything instantly.tells us when soeone has voted for too many cars and too litttle.

I think your are selling yourself short though. For the many bigger shows, you could easily get 50-100 for it. Maybe put together something for small shows and bigger shows based o nthe car count they expect and price it accordingly. After some of the small shows grow they can easily upgrade.

Just a thought.
