Front Fender Seals
I am putting a '64 Lemans back together and front fender seals are confusing me. When I took the front end apart I found remnants of a seal between the inner and outer fender where they bolt together over the wheel arch. They appear to be shown in the chassis manual. However, I cannot find any reference to them anywhere and no one appears to sell them. Opposite is true for what are labeled fender to cowl seals. Everyone sells them, I find no mention of them in the literature, and I found no remnant of them on my car. I have the cowl seals, but don't know where they go. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Depends on which cowl seals you're referring to.

Thanks. I was talking about the long pinch weld seal. The seals I have are a diamond shaped tube that is closed. Are they supposed to be split and fit over the seam? Or just glued on in some fashion?

Mine were split, some sort of weatherstripping adhesive was applied

On my '64 Lemans Spt Cpe, built in Pontiac, the D117V was not split and glued to the side cowl on the door side of the pinch weld. The fender's vertical brace nested against it to create the seal. The D118 was glued to the top cowl between the 2 raised bosses in the sheet metal that run front to rear of the cowl. Let me know if you need pics. I can mock something up. The only inner to outer fender seal was where they meet behind the tire. Ames p/n P166. Forum members suggest making staples from SS wire for best results.
