Two Issues with that deal, Scott.

1) None of the Pontiac Guys will admit what they are actually running.
(all the way back to Arnie Beswick days.)

2) The knowledge base for the racers has dried up drastically with no Pete McCarthy,
High Performance Pontiac, Car Craft, Hot Rod articles to speak of.

As was said lots of interest in the LS engine vehicles with their events.

David Butler was not stupid.

The old board was some smack talking by P-Dude and Lil Jack backed up by racing.
The East Coast Mafia has dried up.

Personally I have no desire to read face book crap in a technical section of the board.

You already know it but you're right on all accounts...
In particular, Butler was smart to get in on the LS craze...
I will probably use them for my build..
I don't have any social media at all so I can't see anything the East coast is up to other than texting Brian here and there...
Those guys are pushing the limits every chance they can.

I discussed this with my friends regularly. Once my generation is gone (54yo) This hot rod and racing stuff will almost be nonexistent.!

With the old stuff I agree Bill.. however, with the new stuff it's alive and well! Hot rodding isn't gonna die. Lots of guys under the hoods of modern cars... I'm 50 and doing it...
I gave up on the old school... I'm playing with modern muscle...

This particular forum could use a few different areas? Some of the "race" stuff is a bit diluted with "not so much RACE oriented" stuff
BUT

I can say I have posted several things in here that I would consider "TECHNICAL" secret squirrel kind of knowledge questions and have been VERY appreciative of the replies. The average STREET folks are probably NOT going to have many tech tips on ...installing a 1 pcs rear seal, lifter valley brace install, pushrod cup differences...etc. While not exactly RACE stuff...still quite technical for a moderate user (or someone who hasn't wrenched on 1 in 15 yrs.

I would like to see a FUEL INJECTION section...
