Still searching the world over. Anyone have an old tote with one buried perhaps.

Seems like they might be hard to find. I am thinking likely ebay. An option would to get another color and repaint/redye. I have repainted lots of interior parts on my 78 TA using SEM , like this https://www.summitracing.com/parts/smm-15173/overview/

Hard to get in good condition in any colour. Red and Blue seemed to be chalky before others or cracked. The poor quality repro was a different type again and probably also no longer available.

Wonder what people are doing instead of using broken sleeves...

Probably anything if the broken area is visible, or the stalk no longer holds the receiver up. To many, an incorrect but intact sleeve is a big improvement over a cracked and chalky faded original and are more than happy. For years mine had a 12" tan set from an A-Body that are mint, until I found a perfect 10" Firebird set, which I then covered in leather anyway. I think most are at the point where you have to recolour them if you find a good set, which also protects the surface from further deterioration.

I would love to see the pictures of how you covered with leather. I will find an upholstery guy..

Obviously, not remotely original or stock looking but neither is my leather interior. The other option was to custom mix some paint to suit the plastic, but decided to cover them instead.

Here's another idea if you come across some. This is my 12" A-body set of Deluxe stalks I used for a while with my tan set, shown next to a 10" Firebird sleeve. They worked but the extra height at console was a tad annoying and obv not suitable, luckily they were flexible.

But, if you found a good set in red, or to recover etc, you'll notice that the wiring harness holes in the sleeves are close to 2" higher than the anchor bolt opening. You could easily trim the bottom off, or simply add the shorter Firebird belt inside it and bolt it up through the higher opening, and not see extra length at base, removed or just left in place.

If interested you can text or call, but please don’t ask me to separate them from sleeve, it’s all or nothing. Teri 8473406638
