Was the original big car shift lever also round like the A body shifter in your picture above?

Not that it has anything to do with this discussion, but this is a picture of the aftermarket Hurst I put in my '61 (I still have the original Inland shifter, but it's stored away in a box out in the garage.)

Stuart, I believe the shifter arm is round like the A/F-bodies.

Here are the P/N's for the shifter assembly, arm, rods, and levers underlined in red that we are looking for. The 67/68 4-speed shifters and hardware are completely interchangeable except for the shifter assembly (67 - 9786898 vs. 68 - 97900770). Not sure what the differences would be...? Interesting there is only one shifter arm for both buckets with and w/o console and bench seat...9787946. The 1/2 and 3/4 levers are the same p/n.
