68 firebird Front turn signal lens question

I have read on this forum about the poor quality of some of the 68 Firebird repop front turn signal lenses. Can someone describe what the problem is with the repops. From what I understand, GM replacements are not available. Can someone recommend or not recommend a particular vendor
