I bought one of them after reading some posts indicating they had a cast impeller, but when I received it I compared it to an original and found that while it does have a cast impeller, it is machined differently that the stock impeller causing a gap similar to what you describe.

I am toying with the idea of pulling an impeller off an original pump I have, and installing on the new pump. This will only work is the shaft sizes are the same, but I've read some posts where others have done it with success.

Curious as to what the pricing is with the NAPA pump? The GMB pump is the exact same one our board sponsor sells, and is a good piece.
