Here are some pictures of the Union Park/Harold Ramsey car at POCI 2010, and Tim with a well deserved Gold award. The car was awarded the "Concours de Elegance" award.

Thanks for the notes, friends.

Reworked the trunk, put the body on the frame, tinkering around with other small stuff.

Nice progress indeed!!

Interesting to see the oil breather cap detail... very glossy in '63 (compared to '62) and no dimples betweem AC and OIL.

Thorpes, how many people should a guy have on hand when reattaching a body to a chassis? (At some point (this year) I will need to know)

If you have a lift it is very easy. Put the body on the lift, raise up. roll chassis under body, lower body slowly, lining up the body, reposition lift arms under chassis, raise car, installe bolts. walla a car is together again.

We typically have 5 on hand. I am always present. Regardless of how many times you've done it they are different each time.

Great pictures - thanks for posting.

Yep, agree with Patrick and Matt - the rusty chain makes me a bit nervious... lol

I find the support plate over the right body mount in the trunk interesting. I have never seen one that small or turned in that direction - I've always seen the rectangle and placed the way it is over the left hand body mount. - any thoughts or theories? -

Matt - if you cut some all-thread the same size as the body mount bolts - about 6" long - and screw them into the body mounts - they act as guide while lowering the body - then you can just unscrew them and and insert the body bolts.

Thanks for the photos.

I'd like to see more pics of the trunk mounted battery (tray, location and attachments) when you get to that point.

The pic of the frame by itself looks like the Packer Pontiac '63.
Just a quick note on that car.
When Scott began to mount the front fenders he discovered they would not align properly. The frame was bent. He had to take the car off the frame and have a shop use lazers to realign the frame. He warned them that it might crack in a couple of places, and it did. He had to reweld the crack, grind and repaint. He put the car back on the frame and sure enough the fenders hung correctly. I do have some pics, somewhere. They are not very good, though.

Those carbs are clearly clones. Dk what I was looking at earlier or thinking of but there are no peened areas on the ends of the throttle shafts, so the arms were apparently plug welded on and then ground off flat, and the choke vacuum circuits are filled flush with JB Weld or something rather than with the little rounded aluminum plugs.

You all probably already know that they had to reinforce the frames with lumber to keep from bending them while building the cars in the assembly plant.

I had never heard that Keith. The guys on the line must have been shaking their heads as they were being assembled. Mark L

Good eye on the carbs to everyone who mentioned it. This car will be leaving my shop with the correct ones. I will post pics accordingly. If I forget the trunk photos that were requested just send me a friendly reminder. Anybody else?
