Default Optional 65 GTO Vanity Mirror Question

I recently purchased 2 1965 vanity mirrors with PONTIAC embossed on them, one a nice original and the other represented as an NOS item. One has Phillips screws (the original), and the other (NOS) has slotted screws, both with beveled heads to fit flush in the frame -- which is correct for the application?

Thanks guys, I appreciate the answer! RA II 4-speed's picture does bring up another question, however. Was there a standard template for the location, or were there any criteria for installation specified such as parallel with the top edge of visor, etc.?

I believe that Convertible visors are different from visors on hardtops.
If they are, I assume the mounting would be different as well.
here are pics of both sides of mine.

IIRC, This visor mirror could be dealer ordered or factory ordered. I have seen blank framed ones, Pontiac ones and Oldsmobile ones. I haven't seen Buick or Cadillac, but they probably exist. I have had a few NOS ones, and pulled more than a few used ones out of the boneyard. Most of the time, the mirror had gotten foggy. Can't seem to give the Oldsmobile ones away, so maybe they were very prevalent.

For 1964

Thought I'd throw out a couple of side-by-side shots of the two versions of the 1964 visor vanity mirror. Both use philip style screws, and are identical except for the Pontiac script, which is in black. The lower silver visor, ordered as Option D34, follows the dimensions outlined in the 1964 & 1965 Installation Instructions submitted by Ron in Post 9. The parchment visor does not. Both visor sets use the "Astral" Pattern Vinyl Coated Fabric. To maintain the coordinated interior, I do not believe the Astral fabric was available for use in the convertible, as shown in RAII4-speed's Post No 8.

Yes, mine is identical to Ram Air II 4 speed's, down to the rivet type of nuts used. My visors are headliner material instead of vinyl.
