Default arrowhead on 65 hood?

i have heard it both ways but i believe the 65 never came with an arrowhead on the hood. i have seen two GTOs where the owner claimed it was all original but the hood had an arrowhead on it. anyone know for sure?

The arrow head was on the 66 & 67 hoods (which are interchangeable - I believe) but not on the 65.

Of course, I'm assuming you are talking about the GTO/Lemans

Default arrowhead on the hood

On the 65 the arrowhead was mounted on the separator between the grill's. Not on the hood at all.

yes, the 65gto. i have a 65 lemans with a 66gto hood. the original hood for mine had that big trim piece in the nose. i believe this may be a way to catch those tying to sell clones. or at least a red flag to look deeper into the cars history.
