Default 1969 Weatherstrip Install

I am going to be reinstalling my roof rail weatherstrip channel today on my 69. (The stainless pieces that tape and screw into the upper door jam and hole the rubber ) I have the 3m tape stuff and weather strip adhesive. Is there any methods to installing the channel to make adjusting the door glass go easier? Or does the channel butt right up against the frame?

Theres a slight amount of adjustment allowance built into the channel. You need to have the windows in and partially adjusted to make the final set of the upper weatherstripping together with the final window adjustment. This is detailed in the Fisher Body manual chapter 6, Doors, A body Front Door Window Adjustment and Side Roof Rail Weatherstrip Adjustment

Ditto OG68. The factory service manual is pretty good at detailing the install.

Once you've done it once or twice you get the hang of it.
