Default Head lights on 2015 GMC 2500 Problems with new bulbs.

My oem headlight bulbs went out this past early spring. So had local tire shop where I hang out replace them, usually NAPA parts. Approximately 1 month later at night both new bulbs went out. So he replaced them free. This past weekend yep,one bulb went out. He was using middle intensity bulbs not bright. We talked about it,he had one other GM big SUV with same problem. Is this junk bulbs from . .... or something else? Truck works fine otherwise (horn connection at front is a corrosion problem) At 88k still have oem front brakes, replaced rears last year. Thanks guys

I have a 2011 2500 and have never had that problem. I think I have replaced at least the drivers side awhile back, but that’s it. I’ve had the truck since 2018.

Lightbulb Halogen bulbs

If the bulbs are halogen
and get any contamination
on them - like oil from skin
they will burn out prematurely.

Always use nitrate gloves to install
new bulbs - check them for any
contamination out of the package.

Didn’t even think of that. Yeah, I never touch my bulbs.

My 2011 GMC had one bulb go out in about 2020, replaced them both with Sylvania standard bulbs, both still going. Was careful not to touch them.

I got new bulbs installed today, free.i wanted to pay he said no. Owner has been having problems with certain supplier went too O'Reilly s got Sylvania bulbs. He has been switching to O Reilly's because of quality issues at other parts house( I'm reluctant to post name).

Thumbs up O’Reilly’s

I have a commercial account
at O’Reillys and I buy most
of my parts from them
because of the great service
and a lifetime warranty combined
with the no hassle warranty return policy..

I was talking to owner. He said my old bulbs didnt have any noticable problems like hand oil or dirt. Jiggled wiring and plug nothing,so must be bad bulbs again. He has had issues with plugs and wiring on other GMs. I guess wait and see. OEM lights lasted till last January 2024 so I'm thinking bad products.
